Bowers & Watkins is excited to announce the arrival of the newest member of their Wireless Music Systems, the Z2. They are now in stock with the Z2 Black, and accepting orders for immediate shipment. In June, the Z2 White will be added, and also an updated version of the class-leading Zeppelin Air. The Z2 offers exemplary sound quality that improves on its predecessor, the Zeppelin Mini, and also adds Apple’s AirPlay wireless streaming technology. It also features the new nine pin Lightning connector for convenient docking with the latest iOS devices.

Custom Audio VideoZ2 offers the best of all worlds: amazing sound, the effortless convenience of wireless streaming, sleek new finish and a versatile design that fits almost anywhere. Plus, the new Lightning connector means customers can dock the latest generation of iPhone, iPod touch® and iPod nano® as well as streaming wirelessly from many other iPhone and iPad® models, and from a Mac® or PC running iTunes®. A subtly curved metal grille protects new Bowers & Wilkins engineered drive units, while proprietary Flowport™ technology works to keep bass performance tight and controlled. Decades of Bowers & Wilkins acoustic engineering experience combined with leading edge DSP technology mean that while Z2 is appealingly compact and yet music sounds amazingly natural, controlled and fully formed even in larger rooms.

Zeppelin Air, the number-one-selling AirPlay speaker system has also been updated with the new Lightning connector for iPhone 5 compatibility and will be available in June as the Zeppelin Air LCM. It will be packaged in a new black carton calling out the Lightning connector. Since originally launched as the world’s first premium AirPlay speaker dock, Zeppelin Air has led the way in sound quality and features. This updated version retains the iconic design, and offers the same room-filling, highly-detailed audio performance as the current 30 pin version. We will continue to offer the 30 pin version concurrently with the Lightning version as there are many users with a mix of older iOS devices even as they transition to 9 pin devices, led by the iPhone 5. Bear in mind that Apple provides a 30 pin dock to Lightning iOS device adaptor, but not a Lightning dock to 30 pin iOS device adaptor.

The simple to set-up and use AirPlay technology allows you to stream music wirelessly from your iPhone or iPad to either of the new docks, or the A7 and A5 which complete Bowers & Wilkins Wireless Music System line up. It’s quick and easy, high quality, retains the rich app experience, and works from the palm of your hand. Plus, many customers already own nearly everything they need to enjoy its benefits: a Wi-Fi network and an iOS device or a computer running iTunes. This intuitive technology is made even more straightforward with the free Bowers & Wilkins setup app, downloadable from the App StoreSM .

Zeppelin Air, Z2 and the complete Bowers & Wilkins Wireless Music System range combine traditional Bowers & Wilkins audio expertise with AirPlay wireless streaming, the latest in digital amplifier technology and bespoke Digital Signal Processing, to deliver the effortless convenience and freedom of wireless music, without compromising on sound quality.
